Daily Nourishment Read Time: 40 seconds
Pause/Prompt/Practice Time: 10-15 minutes

If you want to feel less alone in your creative work, engage with others’ art.

Pause.

Look at this art, A Lady Writing by Johannes Vermeer, for two minutes.

Prompt.

Return your gaze to the Vermeer painting and consider these two questions: What is your relationship with the woman in this painting? What is she asking of you?

Write a response to these questions for five minutes.

Practice.

Sit with a favorite work of art or a favorite book or song and consider similar questions: What is your relationship with a primary component of this favorite work of art? What is it asking of you?

Write a response to these questions for five minutes.
