Daily Nourishment for November 10, 2024: When Writing Helps You Discover What You Know

Daily Nourishment Read Time: 40 seconds
Pause/Prompt/Practice Time: 15 minutes

Pause.

Take six deep breaths with a six-count inhale and a six-count exhale. Then listen to a song that helps you feel less alone.

Prompt.

Most writers write because they can’t not write. Most writers write because that’s one way they discover what they know or believe.

What’s one thing you’ve discovered through writing during the past month or so?

Practice.

Set a timer for seven minutes and make a stream of consciousness list of questions. Try to keep your pen or pencil moving (or fingers typing) for the full seven minutes. Capture any questions that come to mind. All questions count.

Pick two or three questions from your list to write about today and in the coming days and weeks.
