It’s Okay to Shift Your Plans to Create More Space in Your Mind, Body, and Soul

Today’s two SDW Co-Writing Sessions happened without an updated liturgy using poems and words from the Poetry Unbound book (and podcast!).

Other things required a portion of my time, attention, and energy, and not putting together new liturgies for today’s co-writing sessions was one way to inhabit a slower pace and emptier space in my brain, body, and soul.

And both sessions went well. All participants seemed to enjoy our time together even though we didn’t do it the way we usually do it. I sure enjoyed it.

During a portion of the afternoon session, I started reading The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin. Here’s a blurb from Saint Anne Lamott:

“This is a gorgeous and inspiring work of art on creation, creativity, the work of the artist. It will gladden the hearts of writers and artists everywhere, and get them working again with a new sense of meaning and direction. A stunning accomplishment.”

I’ll let y’all know what I think soon! Maybe even in tomorrow’s Daily Nourishment!
