A New Writing Corner in My Bedroom

I rearranged our bedroom a few weeks ago and was able to create another writing/work/Zoom space. I used it for the first time during today’s SDW Co-Writing Session. I’ve decided I like it.

The little writing space in our bathroom is still my favorite space for Zoom calls and client meetings and short writing sessions, but sometimes I need a change of scenery. There’s a large desk on the upstairs landing that I can use, but I don’t seem to be going up there much. Now that I think about it, I might actually be able to move that large desk to our bedroom and let it replace this small drop-leaf table.

Anyway.

I thought I was against having my main writing space in our bedroom, but I’m digging it. I might as well lean into it. Now I need to figure out how to rearrange things so that large desk can fit.

We’ve been living here for a little over a year and I’m still settling in and trying to figure out how I want to use the space. Maybe I will always be settling in. Sounds about right.

Also. Here’s some bonus material: Here’s Eudora Welty writing at a desk in her bedroom. I love this photo by Jill Krementz. The photo is published in multiple places online, so I assume I can post it here. Here’s one place it’s published. Maybe a link helps me not break the law.

A Question for You: What’s your home writing space(s) like?
