Daily Nourishment for November 6, 2024: More Blank Space (Again)

Daily Nourishment Read Time: 40 seconds
Pause/Prompt/Practice Time: 15 minutes

Action needs contemplation.
Work needs rest.

Pause.

Take six deep breaths with a six-count inhale and a six-count exhale. Then listen to a song that helps you feel less alone in the world.

Prompt.

Set a timer for seven minutes and respond to one or more of the questions below:

How have recent or past tragedies shaken your reality?

How have recent or past joys given you opportunities for delight and celebration?

What specific things, events, circumstances do you wish could be undone?

What’s one soul hope for the coming month?

How have you noticed God’s presence in your creative work and other areas of life during the past week or two?

How do you want to notice God in the coming days and weeks?

Practice.

Schedule some blank space in your day today. At least 15 minutes. An hour is great. Two hours are better.

Just be. No agenda.

Do something that feels frivolous or rest your eyes or sit in a cozy spot and let your mind wander.

Return to a favorite book. Open it to a random page and read three paragraphs. Then wait and see what happens (or doesn’t happen) next.
